Since I really dont do the whole family gift thing at Christmas, my favorite hand made thing to do is get out my home printed checks (I have made my own for 15 years now), fill them in by hand and then deliver them to my favorite charities the day after Christmas. I write them out on December 25 and put them in envelopes and stamp them up pretty.

Lately I have really gotten into decorating tins (holiday appropriate) and fill them with goodies depending on who I am giving it to along with a handmade card. This will be fun to read all the replies!

My favorite *Teacher Gift* is personalized notecards. It is consumable and non-fattening. ;)

I also like to make mini albums for special people to show them how important they are in my/my family's lives.

I am so glad I discovered your blog--I have really enjoyed your posts.

You're giveaway is on my birtdhay and I would LOVE a jacksonbelle gift certificate!!! My favorite handmade gift item to give is a purse calendar that I have stamped. My friends always love getting them especially if they're personalized! For a larger gift item I give desk sets that are a hit. I need to make one today in fact!!

MY favourite hand made gift has to be containers of cookies. These always go down really well with all ages. Card sets would be next but only for a select group.

OMG!!! This is a FABULOUS prize!! I like to give my grandma (now 93 years old) a huge selection of handmade birthday cards to give out to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She remembers everyone's birhtday, butis in a nursing home, so she can't get out to buy cards. The only problem....there are a lot of men and boys in the family, so it is touch for me to do 'manly' cards!!! But I don't mind! Thanks!

Thanks for the chance to enter Dee!
My favorite hand made gifts always involve something that I've canned from our gardens or fruit trees.
Last year it was organic peach preserves, and salsa. This year it will probably be canned apple pie filling, and spaghetti sauce.

Each year, I give homebaked goodies to my neighbors. Cookies, or breads, pretzels, even. They enjoy it and it makes me happy to share what I create, food or otherwise...

What great candy! Every year I give my neighbors a cooking utensil filled with candy and a hand stamped card and gift tag. Last year it was a wisk and I wrote "We Wisk you a Merry Christmas". This year it will be a cheese grate and it will say "Happy Holidays to Grate Neighbors". I also like to give a pack of cards wrapped in a cello bag and tied with ribbon. One of my friends says that's all she ever wants me to give her. She is not a stamper and says they come in so handy when a birthday or anniversary pops up, she also loves that she doesn't have to spend a small fortune at Hallmark.
Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi, Dee! Gosh, who wouldn't love a GC to Lindsey's store? To answer your question--most of my handmade gifts are cards. I like to package them up in that card tote I made or a cute decorated or handmade box. I also love to do all kinds of boxes or tins and fill them with fun stuff. An assortment of scented candles in a pretty box is a nice gift that I like to give. Got to come up with different things all the time, though. Last year I made those CD holders with a CD of Christmas music that I burned. One year I made a recipe book. Oh, my goodness. Now look what you've done. I have to go stamp something! Thanks for the opportunity and for this question. I've enjoyed reading the answers!

I have been making little boxes and putting love notes in them to give to my friends! thats been my fav to make :)

Other than my Christmas cards I send to everyone, I don't do homemade at Christmas time because my family all likes gift cards better than anything else. So it sure makes things easier.

Hi Dee!
Congratulations on 15,000!!! WOW!!!
Thank you for offering a certificate for Jacksonbelle's terrific store!

When I did give hand-made gifts (before my eyes got too bad) I loved making counted cross-stitch items. My favorites were those heavy glass coasters.

I am new to your blog and I'm not even a stamper, but I enjoy all the neat cards and other altered items.

My favorite handmade gift to make this year has been marble magnets. I don't know if people will like getting them as much as I like making them, but I've had fun! :-)

This year, I'm going to make my mom a new recipe box (with one of those lunch box tins)...make dividers inside...I love it!

I'm new to your blog, but so very glad to have found it!
I like to give hand stamped recipe books using fave recipe pages that have been decorated like a scrapbook page (you will find samples in the recipe swap gallery over at SCS) my friends and family have become so addicted to these! you can create themed books such as chocolate recipes, desserts, Christmas, or whatever your heart desires! I started several years ago making a notecard to match each page, so that the recipient has a lovely stack of cards to send out as well. What better way to combine 2 of my favorite things in life - stamping and eating?!?! :)

congrats on doing so well with your blog!!

I love to give gifts from my kitchen. Last year my DH and I made breakfast bags - almond biscotti, flavored teas and coffee & chocolate dipped peppermint stirrers. Of course I stamped the packaging! We haven't decided on this year's gift yet.

I usually do cookies & breads for neighbors - one year I did a movie basket for DS & his family - gift card for a video store, popcorn, the usual movie snacks of candy & nuts.
An address book for 93 y/o Mom with all the kids, gkids, ggkids addresses & birthdays entered in it & space for additions, along with a bunch of handmade cards & most of all, postage stamps to mail them!
Congrats on the hits.

Hi Dee,
I've enjoyed decorating paint cans and filling them with items for different themes (movie night, pampering pedicure, etc.) to giv as gifts. They're really fun to do, and the recipient gets something that was put together personally for them.

Well that would have to be cookies accompanied by a quilted kitchen item like hot mitts or christmas towels. Would love to win your blog candy. Count me in!

Hello Dee! Love what you do...

Thanks for the chance to win a gift certicate. Love those May Arts ribbons.

My favorite homemade gift every year is without doubt my "Sucre à la crème" - Golden fudge in English. I think that it sounds better in French... creamy suger... aahhh muuummmm! Last year, I found some mini paint cans. I decorated them with Christmas pattern paper, put lots of ribbons on the handle, and added a little homemade tag. They were adorable.... This year I might try those nuggets tins I've seen everywhere on blogs....

Thanks again.

If I am making it, it is a note card set. If my mom is making it, homemade peanut brittle. MMMMMMM that is good stuff!!!

One of the best handmade gifts I gave last year was an embellished lunch tin filled with assorted cards for my sister. She's the one person I can give cards to who will actually USE them and not hoard them! She's asked for a refill this year.

I am little ashamed to say I rarely give hand made gifts!! Having said that last year was a record for me...I gave out two knitted scarves and a scrapbooked page in shadow box frame.

This year nothing has really jumped out at me yet. I am thinking of doing a bunch of corner book marks as most of my friends are book worms!

Thanks for the chance at candy...fingers toes and everything else crossed!

Cheers Dee,

Yosha
